Ian Carey

The 2022 Royal Rumble takes place later this month and will set the stage for the top storylines in WWE as we approach WrestleMania. WWE often promotes the Royal Rumble as the start of WrestleMania Season.

The Rumble is often the least predictable show of the year for WWE but we've outlined 5 possible predictions for this year's event. From who will win the Rumble matches to the surprise entrants we could see, scroll down below to read our predictions for the show.

Bianca Belair Wins The Women's Royal Rumble

Bianca Belair won the 2021 Women's Royal Rumble and then went on to headline Night 1 of WrestleMania against Sasha Banks. She defeated "The Boss" but would end up losing her title to Becky Lynch at SummerSlam in an impromptu match that lasted just seconds. Belair has an ax to grind with how she lost the belt but winning the Royal Rumble for the 2nd year in a row gets her right back in the title hunt.

How Real Is WWE's Royal Rumble?

WWE's Royal Rumble has a long history, but what exactly is it?

RK-Bro Begins To Fall Apart

Recently on WWE RAW, Riddle and Randy Orton dropped the RAW Tag Team Championships to Otis and Chad Gable. That might have just been the beginning of their team falling apart. Ultimately, their time together was always going to end with one of them turning on the other and it would make sense that it happen in time for them to face each other at WrestleMania. Perhaps one will eliminate the other from the Rumble match itself, kick-starting a rivalry between the two.

Big E Wins The 2022 Men's Royal Rumble Match

Not too many fans were happy with the way Big E lost his WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar at Day 1. He'll need a big win to get back in the title hunt in time for WrestleMania, however, and there is no better way to do that than winning the Royal Rumble match itself. Betting odds currently have Big E listed as a favorite to win the match and we agree it definitely could happen.

Corey Graves Returns To The Ring In The Rumble

Recent reports have revealed Corey Graves was medically cleared to wrestle again back in 2020. News of this has just come out recently, however, and we're wondering if that might have anything to do with him potentially appearing in the Royal Rumble match this year.

Graves likely isn't leaving the broadcast booth anytime soon, but a one-off appearance in the Royal Rumble would be a feel-good moment for him and those who are fans of his work.

WWE shocked a lot of people on Smackdown recently when they announced that Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James will be in the Royal Rumble. That they mentioned Impact at all is fairly surprising.

Rumors are that WWE is looking to have more wrestlers contracted to other organizations make an appearance in the Rumble. We've seen AEW and Impact agree to such deals in the past, perhaps we'll see more non-WWE wrestlers in this year's Rumble. Some fans have suggested Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson as possible entrants. We'll just have to wait and see if it happens.
