The moment all football fans were waiting for is finally here.

Championship week is upon us and the College Football playoffs are just around the corner, meaning that plenty of people are going to be quite mad at the committee.

This season has been as unpredictable as it's been exciting but, as per usual, the committee will have to snub at least a couple of programs ahead of the playoffs.

And, according to ESPN's CFB Playoff Predictor, there won't be any surprises ahead of us.

As expected, ESPN is giving the Georgia Bulldogs a 99% chance of making the playoffs, followed closely by the Michigan Wolverines (72%), and Cincinnati Bearcats (72%).

The Alabama Crimson Tide (59%) rounds up the list of teams with a big chance to make the playoffs, while Oklahoma State (32%), Baylor, Iowa, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Oregon, Utah, and Houston all seem like long shots at less than 1% chance.

But... believe it or not, there's a big chance that this picture changes entirely by Saturday.

The Story Behind Mikaela Shiffrin's Olympic Comeback

After the loss of her father and a less than shiny 2020-21 season, Mikaela Shiffrin is gearing up for a six-event Olympics this year.

The Cincinnati Bearcats enter Championship Week with a flawless 12-0 record.

They'll be 10.5 point favorites against no. 24 Houston, who also boasts an impressive 11-1 record.

A home loss and losing the ACC title could make the committee second guess whether the Bearcats are actually playoff material, especially with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish looming around and waiting for a chance.

Cincinnati dominated Houston 38-10 in their meeting last year, so you know the Cougars have this game marked on their calendar.

The Fighting Irish Are Right There

The independent Fighting Irish could still make the playoffs if they get some help from other teams.

They won't play this season but a loss from Cincinnati could certainly help their case. They're riding a seven-game winning streak, boast an impressive defense, and are 11-1 for the season.

Losses from Oklahoma State to Baylor or Michigan to Iowa could also help their case, as well as a blowout loss by Alabama at the hands of no. 1 Georgia.

It's a long shot, but it's still possible.

What If Saban Does It Again?

And last but not least, people seem to ignore the fact that Nick Saban is one of the greatest coaches in college football history.

The Crimson Tide hasn't been as dominant as it's been in the past and they needed a miracle to get past the Bo Nix-less Auburn Tigers, yet you can never count them out.

Even playing below their usual level, Alabama sits at an 11-1 record.

They're 6.5-point underdogs but they dominated Georgia 41-24 in their last meeting, and betting against Nick Saban on a must-win game hasn't always been a smart wager.
